Fermented in small lots, this 100-percent Merlot from the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley was aged in French oak barrels for 36 months.
Concentrated blackcurrant, plum, bramble, bay leaf and spice. It calls out for ribeye and duck fat fries, but is seductive and drinkable enough for a rousing game night with friends.
